(Chair of chairs meeting this one was called out as an outstanding example of sponsored project) * 1 workshop accepted and pushed to 2022: Workshop on helping junior BIPOC and LGBTQ+ scholars and graduate students integrate with E&T more and giving training on career advancement > ACTION ITEM: Social Media Manager- any interest? Do we need it? We budgeted for it for 2021, but did not use those funds. * Feedback: Is there enough content? Gatekeeper who decides what goes up? > ACTION ITEM: do we want to do a blog? What would it take to do, sustain? * Feedback: Is there enough content? What kinds of content would we want to post? Content about a paper that is coming out (like the Conversation?), would have an idea from newsletter who is publishing things to solicit posts * Might be easier to get content than social media, think about ways of pitching, 1 blog per year dedicated to doing research i.e., “Notes from the field”. If there is a format and people can contribute to – i.e. when a conference or meeting is coming up want to share > ACTION ITEM: Proposal for another workshop for 2022? Deadline July 15th (not sure if we can have more than 1 workshop per division) > Note: Buy one extra division membership for $10 and get one more free > Following up: Edited Reader of E&T SSSP Scholarship (Angus)? (Can use the funds that we had purposed for the social media manager - need to look at Rules – is this possible?) * Can establish awards (not money, but acknowledgement) – account for in budget, not a rule against it * Follow up: Email membership to ask what kind of award would be interested in – mentorship? Newsletter stipend: We request funds to award $250 to a graduate student who is our newsletter editor and has worked very hard to revamp our newsletter. They also help out with our social media accounts. 2. Social Media stipend: We request funds to award $100 to a graduate student to manage our social media accounts. 3. Graduate student paper competition: We request funds to award a $100 honorarium to our student paper winner. 4. Reception: We would like to contribute $150 toward the co-sponsored reception. *NOTE: Budgets may need to change given SSSP loss in funds from COVID 2
