CJDD Division Business Meeting Minutes August 5th, 2022 SSSP Meeting in Los Angeles   * Budget of $600 approved for the next year: part of it goes to newsletter editor, student paper award $175, money for plaques for scholarly achievement and teaching award * Stephanie Williams, and Chris Dum volunteered to serve on the paper award committee as chair and member respectively.  Rafia Malik volunteered to serve: , we’ll look into if grad students can serve on it, if not we need a third volunteer: note, I checked with Michelle and she said that graduate students CAN serve on paper award committees * The question has been raised regarding whether to have a virtual or in person business meeting for 2023. The consensus of those in attendance was that we do both – on virtual meeting before the conference and one in person meeting during the conference. * The need to increase SSSP membership was discussed as were ideas for increasing membership. 1. social media? Tik tok? Maybe twitter is a better idea, maybe posts once a week about people, Instagram stories. How do we go about promoting SSSP? How does SSSP market itself?  How do we reach out? What is the package? Journal has a good impact factor * 2023 Session ideas were discussed.
