We all discussed ideas for potential sessions for the 2024 meeting, including the following: o Constraints on bodily autonomy in health – the impacts of state and state agents (Ginger) o Long-term consequences of COVID response (Barbara Katz-Rothman) o Community participatory research in improving health and healthcare (Yuying) o Leisure and health (Ginger) o Mental health services and autonomy in the carceral state (Hannah) o Psychedelics and inequalities (Donalee) o Aging and migration (Rebecca) • Call for volunteers to organize sessions 6) Review of 2024 Division budget * An attendee suggested that we rethink awarding the honorarium for the Outstanding Scholarship Award, as this award is often given to senior academics who then give the honorarium back to SSSP. The attendee noted that if we forego the honorarium, we can use it elsewhere in a way that benefits the division (since, when donated back to SSSP, the Health division no longer has control over the funds). We briefly discussed the possibility of giving it to the Graduate Student Paper award honorarium or to the reception fund 7) Other Business * Yuying encouraged members to consider self-nominating for the incoming Division Co-Chair position and to consider organizing a session for next year’s annual meeting * Barbara encouraged attendees to respond to the Mentoring Committee request, as mentoring is one of the hallmarks of SSSP. * Ginger briefly brought up participation in the upcoming resolutions on reaffirming our commitment to transgender and nonbinary healthcare. Since resolutions not yet approved, we told members to consider whether they would want to participate in emailing state legislators and other institutional representatives. Meeting Adjourned: 2:55pm
