Description: John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) and an internationally recognized leader in educating for justice, invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Sociology, to begin in Fall 2027.

John Jay is a federally designated Hispanic-serving institution, ranked third in the nation in Black student success and among the top ten institutions for promoting student social mobility. The College serves a diverse student body of 15,000, nearly half of whom are first-generation college students. The Sociology Department has 24 full-time faculty, offers majors and minors in Sociology and Criminology, and serves over 2,000 students. Teaching load is 3-3.
