What can social science tell us about a way out of violent conflict? This panel presents data on mass violence and post-conflict situations in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and other contexts. Based on research on responses in the fields of law, education, and journalism, this panel draws broader lessons for a world, in which mass violence is increasingly common.
