GRADUATE STUDENT PAPER AWARD

The Disability, Mental Wellness, and Social Justice Division enthusiastically invites student members to submit to the Student Paper Competition. The winner will be recognized at the Division Business Meeting as well as the SSSP Awards Ceremony and will receive a $100 cash award, an electronic certificate of recognition, complimentary student membership and conference registration. All papers must be submitted through the Annual Meeting Call for Papers online system.

Eligibility

  • Papers must be student authored or student co-authored and cannot include faculty co-authors.
  • Papers have not been published or accepted for publication before submission or have been substantially revised with new data, findings, or theoretical contributions since last presentation at SSSP or other professional conferences.
  • Papers have not been submitted to another SSSP division student paper competition.
  • Award recipient(s) will be expected to present their paper at the 2027 SSSP annual meeting.

Submission guidelines

  • Please submit your paper through the Annual Meeting Call for Papers online system.
  • Please also submit an electronic copy of your de-identified paper, separate title page with author information, and a cover letter identifying your graduate program and verifying that you meet the eligibility criteria to Lily Ivanova (lily.ivanova@ubc.ca) and Rebecca Qin (siqi.qin@ubc.ca).

Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2027, but early submissions are welcome and encouraged.
