GENDER
Who are we?
The Gender Division unites students, advocates, activists, and scholars who promote gender justice in their work. We examine the ways in which gender and gender identities operate as status positions in society and how they intersect with various other social statuses including sexuality, class, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, ability, and more. We recognize that power and privilege are relational, and that they transcend local and national boundaries. Therefore, the mission of the gender division is to provide spaces where individuals from intersectionally diverse groups can learn from one another and work collectively toward a more inclusive and socially just world.
