GENDER, SEXUAL BEHAVIOR, POLITICS, AND COMMUNITIES

The Gender, Sexual Behavior, Politics, and Communities (GSBPC) Division unites students, advocates, activists, and scholars who promote gender and sexual justice in their work. We examine the ways in which gender, sexualities, gender identities, and sexual identities operate as status positions with material consequences in society and how they intersect with various other social statuses including race, class, sexuality, ethnicity, religion, nationality, age, ability, and more. We recognize that power and privilege are relational, and that they transcend local and national boundaries. Therefore, the mission of the GSBPC Division is to provide spaces where people from intersectionally diverse groups can learn from one another and work collectively toward a more inclusive, decolonial and socially just world.
