Description:

This session aims at delving into the intricate dynamics of resistance, solidarity, and organizing emerging in response to the pressing issues of poverty, class, and inequality. We invite papers with the empirical research and theoretical discussions that explore varied patterns and practices that marginalized communities employ to confront and navigate multiple conditions of inequality through acts of resistance and solidarity for collective empowerment and social change. This session aims to foster a deeper understanding of the ways in which grassroots movements and community organizations challenge existing power structures and advocate for equitable solutions. We invite attendees to critically reflect on the complexities of social organizing and the potential for transformative action in the face of adversity and inequality.
