Arlene Kaplan Daniels Paper Award
The Arlene Kaplan Daniels Paper Award for the best paper on Women and Social Justice was established in 2016 and annually awards a stipend of $500. Arlene was the first female editor of Social Problems (1975-1978) and became the Society’s President in 1986. Just as Arlene sought to support other women sociologists across the discipline and professional associations through mentoring, preparing references, and editing papers, this award seeks to support research into contemporary issues of women’s justice locally, nationally, and globally.
For more information, visit: http://www.sssp1.org/index.cfm/m/654/Arlene_Kaplan_Daniels_Paper_Award/. The process is relatively simple. Online nominations must be submitted no later than April 15, 2016.
