Membership and Outreach Committee Spotlight: Morena Tartari
This month’s Membership and Outreach Committee post comes from Morena Tartari, Babeș-Bolyai University, who shares more about a recently published book.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created opportunities for sociological reflections about privileges and lack of social justice. One of these contributions comes from the SSSP member Jerome Krase who, with Judith DeSena, studied the everyday life of Brooklyn's residents in two gentrified neighborhoods during the pandemic.
Jerome Krase is Murray Koppelman Professor and Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York, USA. Judith N. DeSena is Professor of Sociology at St. John’s University, New York City, USA. Their book "COVID-19 in Brooklyn: Everyday Life During a Pandemic" combines effectively visual sociology and autoethnography. Learn more about the book.
