The November issue of Social Problems is now available on the SSSP website for all members.  Please visit our website at https://www.sssp1.org/ or follow the members-only link below for complimentary electronic access.  All issues from 1953 - current are available.

The SSSP Call for Papers for the 2020 Annual Meeting is now live!

The Call for Papers for the 2020 Annual Meeting is now live!  View the Student Paper Competitions and Outstanding Scholarship Awards announcement and submit a paper or nominate a book, article, or scholar!  We are exuberant about our 70th Annual Meeting, to be held August 7-9, 2020 at the Park Central Hotel in San Francisco, CA.  This year’s theme selected by President Heather M. Dalmage is Bringing the Hope Back In: Sociological Imagination and Dreaming Transformation.  We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco!

Nominations for the 2019 C. Wright Mills Award

Nominations are now open for the 2019 C. Wright Mills Award.  Members of the Society are encouraged to submit letters of nomination for this prestigious annual award.  Self-nominations are acceptable.  Edited volumes, textbooks, fiction and self-published works are not eligible.  Eligible books must be first edition (not a reprint or later edition) and bear a 2019 copyright.  Exceptions may be made for a book bearing a 2018 copyright, but that was not released until 2019 for the first time.  The C. Wright Mills Award, established in 1964, is made annually and carries with it a stipend of $1,000 for the author(s) of the winning book.  The deadline for the 2019 award nominations is December 15, 2019. https://www.sssp1.org/index.cfm/m/259/C_Wright_Mills_Award/
