Call for Submissions for the 2027 Poetry Slam/Talent Show and Art Exhibit in Chicago

We are pleased to announce the Call for Submissions for the 2027 Annual Meeting – Poetry Slam/Talent Show and Art Exhibit. The Program Committee invites you to share your creative work at the 77th Annual Meeting, August 5-8, 2027, at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.

The Poetry Slam/Talent Show will take place on Thursday, August 5, from 5:45pm-7:30pm (Central Time). We are seeking 5-15 minute performances related to the theme, “Building Communities for Radical Change,” that bridge education, resistance, and entertainment, such as poetry readings, drag performances, music and singing, skits, and stand-up comedy. We are also looking for volunteers to serve as Master of Ceremonies.

The Art Exhibit will take place on Friday, August 6, from 1:30pm-3:00pm (Central Time) and will feature artistic creations including paintings, photography, digital art, sculptures, pottery, and jewelry.

Submissions for both events must be received by January 31, 2027.
