Annual Mentoring Guidelines Checklist for Mentors

I have read the guidelines carefully and recognize that:

• Mentor-mentee matching is done thoughtfully, but due to varying availability, expertise, or experience levels, perfect alignment may not always be possible within that academic year (due to on-campus work, graduate research, job market, possible immigration hiccups, travels, etc.).
• We encourage mentors and mentees to clearly communicate expectations, availability, and goals-ideally in an introductory message or during your first meeting.
• If your availability or schedule has changed since applying to be a mentor for the Annual Mentorship program, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust if needed.
• Mentors will reach out to the SSSP Committee on Mentorship with any concerns or if you have not heard back from your mentee after a few attempts to contact them over time.
• Our committee will do our best to answer your question or resolve any concerns in a timely, mutual, and respectful manner.
