Nominations for the Thomas C. Hood Social Action Award, due April 1

The Thomas C. Hood Social Action Award is awarded to a local grassroots social justice organization in the Metropolitan Statistical Area (as defined by the U.S. Bureau of Census) in which the #SSSP2023 annual meeting is held that year. While the recipient can be an organization in the Philadelphia area that engages in direct service work, preferred recipients will be organizations that also work at the level of systems change. Submit a Chapter Proposal for the Agenda for Social Justice: Solutions for 2024

SSSP and the Justice 21 Committee are working on the 7th edition of the Agenda for Social Justice. This volume will coincide with the US Presidential election cycle. It is designed to inform the public about America’s most pressing social problems and to propose actionable responses and solutions to those social problems.

Social Entrepreneurship Paper Awards, Application Deadline April 30

The Social Entrepreneurship Paper Awards recognize scholarship that explores how individuals and organizations innovate and fund solutions to address social problems. The Best Paper in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation will receive $2,500, one complimentary SSSP membership, one complimentary annual meeting registration, and a plaque. The Best Student Paper Award in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation will receive $1,500, one complimentary SSSP student membership SSSP, one complimentary annual meeting registration, and a plaque.
